Hello! I specialize in helping folks who are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and the effects of trauma. As someone who has struggled with a chronic illness for nearly a decade, I would especially like to support others who are also suffering from chronic illnesses that may have greatly impacted their mental health and wellbeing.
I take a collaborative, culturally-sensitive, and trauma-informed approach to counseling and my healing work is influenced by person-centered therapy, somatic therapy, attachment theory, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My goal for therapy is to create an open and nonjudgmental environment, where you can feel safe to speak your mind. I believe that the mind, body, and spirit are intricately connected and I may incorporate mind-body healing techniques into our work together. Because a person’s culture greatly influences how they make sense of and respond to life’s challenges, I believe that respecting and acknowledging your own cultural identities and how they may have impacted your life are important aspects of counseling and healing. I hope to emphasize the strengths and resources that you already possess in order to help you thrive.
I received a PhD in Psychology and Neuroscience from Princeton University in 2010. I received an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University Seattle in 2024 and a certificate in Trauma Counseling as part of my counseling specialization. I may incorporate my knowledge about stress, trauma, and the brain into our work together, depending on your particular needs and challenges.
